These are six collages that I made for my english final, comparing themes in the novels King Rat by James Clavell and All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque. The top row looks at quotes from King Rat, while the bottom is focused on All Quiet. The first column compares the idea of how friendship is necessary for survival in wartime situations. The second looks at how adaptation is necessary for survival, and the third looks at how bonds themselves form within these situations.
I had a whole write-up about them, but I hardly feel like including it. I was up until 4:30 AM working on these one night, so that it would be ready to turn in. I wound up getting 100% on it, which saved my grade.
The only things printed from a computer (other than the quotations) were the images of the soldier with a gun, and the image of a soldier carrying his comrade. Everything else was either from old books (the trees were taken from an old copy of The Fox and the Hound), old pictures, or cut out of scrapbook paper.
Thanks I loved both of them, actually. Especially All Quiet.
Rad is a pretty awesome word, I must say.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
